There are hundreds of miles of walks to enjoy in Derbyshire. This really is a topic we could talk about endlessly because there are so many beautiful places to choose from. It is just easier to say that we have a good selection of books available to lend to our guests.
Below are just a couple of examples:-
Tissington 4-mile Circular walk.
Tissington is a beautiful little village a few miles north of Ashbourne. The walk is moderate terraine and takes you along parts of the Tissington Trail and through the village of Fenny Bentley. Should you require refreshments at the end of your walk there is a kiosk in the main car park or a café in the middle of the village. There is also a quaint little gift shop that is well worth a visit.
Tissington Hall is worth a visit too if you have the time. However opening times are rather varied.
Hartington 6-miles. Circular walk.
This walk starts from the centre of the village of Hartington. It is very interesting in as much that it is so varied. It takes you through fields to a woodland, it then continues alongside a river and through limestone valleys and finishes overlooking the pretty village of Hartington. The terraine is a little varied but we would say at no point is it more than moderate.
The village is certainly worth exploring whilst you are there as there are various shops including the Hartington cheese factory shop.
