Places to Visit
There are so many interesting places to visit throughout Derbyshire, from the great stately homes full of history, to the fun family days out. For the more energetic there is cycling and water sports. We have numerous brochures to help you plan your days out.
Chatsworth House
Chatsworth House is home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The house and gardens are open to the public from mid March until late December.
Chatsworth is known as one of the Wonders of the Peak and has been the setting of many films including Pride and Prejudice and The Duchess.
There is an extensive programme of events throughout the year. Please do ask us for details.
Bakewell
Bakewell is one of the oldest Market Towns in Derbyshire. The first recorded fair was held in 1254 and popular markets are still held every Monday. This consists of a livestock market in the Agricultural Centre.
Bakewell has a full range of shops, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy.
There are annual well dressings and a Carnival held in late June.
Bakewell Show is one of the oldest agricultural shows with nearly 200 years of history. It has emerged from being a purely agricultural show to a diverse event with something for everybody.
